The life and the medical theory of Yoo Ha Gan

Abstract
Ha Gen was born in Ha Gan of Ha Book of China in Geum era (AD 1120-1200), and was o:te of the four noted Physicians of Geum-Won era.
Who claimed the Ju-Hwa theory.
After studying his life and idea of medicine, I found out the followings.
1. Ha Gan was much influenced by the specific geographical surroundings of Ha Book province and his chaotic days. He made his theory on the basic of Nae-Kyung and Sang-Han-Lon. His idea of medicine was characterized in his books, for example, application of O-Un-Yuk-Gi, Ju-Hwa theory and Hang-Hae-Seng-Je theory.
2. Ha Gan was the first of the four noted physicans of Geum-Won era. From his theory and method of study, many deviations of Oriental Medicine occured.
He made an effort for study of Nae-kyung, which had been depressed for many years. On the contrary of the way of old study that Nae-Kyung had been only explained or revised, he applied the theory of Nae-kyung to clinical care. His the theories of Yuk-Gi-Byung-Gi and On-Yeul-Byung had much influenced on his studentsand posterities, not to mention Jang Ja Hwa and Ju Dan Gye, who were among the four noted physicians. Therefore he became the father of Yuk-Gi and On-Yeul Schools.
3. But, afterward, some scholars said that Ha Gan misunderstood the entire meaning of Nae-kyung and made a lot of errors.
They denied his Ju-Hwa theory and claimed the Ju-Bi-We, Ju-Myung-Moon, Ju-Gi and Ju-Dam etc.
hey asserted the Hwa-Yu-Her-Sil theory, and denied that disease had to be cured with cold (Han-Naeung) Drug.
Also, they said that On-Yeul disease and On-Yeuk disease including Hwa disease had to be distinguished Sil-Hwa and Her-Haw, and treated Bo-Jung or Ge-Sa. On the other hand, they claimed the theory of Ye-Bun-Nam-Buk, which mean the therapy and Symptom of disease depended on climate and geographical environment finally they pointed out the limitation of Ha Gan¢¥s theory, Claiming that his theories were restricted only western-northern province of China.
